Do you have slicer's feet - October 2009

Spinning out, coming over the top, swinging outside - in all end up the same at the finish position. When a club moves through the impact area from outside to in, it is working towards the left leg. This causes the left toe to spin open and the right heel to spin out. See Picture #1.

Picture #1
Outside - In : Left Toe Spin Out
Your feet will look like this
at the finish position.

When hitting a ball properly the left foot never moves throughout the swing. The right heel moves inward and up to the toe.

To help promote this action you must move your hips properly throughout the downswing. The hips must move left, shifting more weight onto the left foot before the hips open at impact.

Also, improving your backswing will help you achieve this downswing goal. Correct footwork s an important part of the golf swing. If you want to learn more please visit with on of the Professionals at the Del Mar Golf Center. We are happy to discuss your swing in more detail.
